Amax Fire & Security Ltd are committed to ensuring the privacy of your information is taken seriously. Therefore, it is our priority to ensure that your personal data is processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner. This privacy policy embodies this commitment.

We request you to read this Privacy Policy carefully as it contains important information on the personal data we have collected about you, what we do with that information and who your
information might be shared with.

Please note, your information will not be disclosed to anyone, other than as set out in this policy. For us, the provision of our services, Design, Installation, Maintenance and Monitoring of Security Systems provides this basis.

For the purpose of clarity, Security systems are defined as including but not limited to, Intruder Alarm Systems, Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, CCTV Systems, Access Control Systems.

How do we collect information from you?

In addition to the information you provide us directly, we may collect personal information from other sources such as credit reference agencies, or images from your CCTV system when we are asked to do so by you. Images are NOT recorded by us.

Information may have been collected via the following methods:

  • Account application forms (e.g. Company name, Company Registration no, Address, Telephone number, Email Address, Name of Company Directors, Bank Reference, Trade References etc)
  • Technical information gathered automatically when enquiries are submitted through our website, consultancy, and site surveys.
  • Other general correspondence we may have with you

For security and legal reasons, telephone calls made to our 24 hour Alarm Receiving Centre, Southern Monitoring Services, on 0844 871 2223 are recorded. These recordings can only be accessed by staff with the appropriate security clearance. All recordings are securely protected, and are kept for a for a minimum of one year for evidential purposes.

We do not store information such as Credit Card details or Alarm Security Codes or passwords for any of your installed systems.

How is your information used?

We process, transfer and disclose customer information to:

  • Process your order
  • Provide you with our services, such as, but not limited to, schedule maintenance of your installed security systems
  • Deal with your transaction issues,
  • Collect any money owed to us,
  • Manage your account
  • Perform credit checks,
  • Internal operation requirements (e.g. audit, credit & risk management), and
  • In general manage our relationship with you.

Please note, we only collect information which is required for a specified primary purpose. This information may be transferred or disclosed to persons acting on your behalf, e.g. company employees, contractors, payment recipients and account nominees.

How are you able to control your information?

  • See what data we have about you, if any.
  • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you.
  • Express any concern you may have about our use of your data.

Your consent

Sometimes we may need your consent to pass on your personal information (for example for marketing).

We won’t always need consent to use personal information – for example if we need it to meet regulatory requirements or to perform a contract with you. Where you have given us consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time.

Sharing and transferring your personal information

We may share some of your personal information to our Inspectorate NSI (https://www.nsi.org.uk/) such as your name, address, details of the type of system installed, service history etc. for certification purposes.

We will share some of your personal information to our Alarm Receiving Centre, Southern Monitoring Services (http://www.smon.co.uk) & Our CCTV monitoring partner Camera Security Services (https://www.camerasecurity.co.uk) such as your name, address and telephone number.

This also applied to any other nominated monitoring partner and or service, as appropriate.

We will share names and telephone numbers, and any relevant information of your designated key-holders to enable them to contact these people should your monitored security system be activated.

We may also share your personal information with Police forces and Fire & Rescue services where these are offered as points of contact for your installed systems.

We may be required to share your personal information with Insurance companies where required to as part of any insurance claim you may make.

We do not share any personal information overseas.
